ABOUT
In seventh grade my father bought me a drum set. I began taking lessons and playing with him occasionally, until I realized neither were working for me. When I was a freshman in high school I began to play music with a kid I’d finally worked up enough courage to talk to. He brought his guitar in to school one day and I knew I’d love to play music with someone my own age. We started small, jamming at my house, playing occasional birthday parties and Philadelphia basements. Eventually we worked our way to bars, grad parties, and even a (somewhat) legitimate venue. I signed a record deal in 2015 with Rough Beast Records in a band called Del Sur, although soon after entering college my music career came to an abrupt halt. I’m hoping to change this in the near future.
When I was thirteen I got my first cellphone, and this was the first time I’d ever had access to my very own camera, even if it was one of those sh*tty flip phone cameras. No lack of quality would ever stop me from making stupid jokes or recording my friends and me skating, snowboarding, or jumping off of questionably high surfaces. Shortly after that, I started my first YouTube channel — YATairsoft. We filmed game-play, reviews, and shooting tests for various airsoft guns we could get our hands on. Although I was young and not heavily involved in editing, this would be my first real taste of video production.
My drive for creating was only strengthened when my outlet was taken away from me. The lack of music in my life drove me to find other outlets, and this led to my introduction into photography and videography. There is so much natural beauty in the world, enough for everyone on it to share it with everyone they love. Capturing these moments and bringing them to life is something that I find very enjoyable, and I hope I can bring some joy into the lives of the people that consume them.
